Beyond Domain Parking

A better way to earn money from your parked sites

Domain parking – a little background from domainparkingblog

Domain parking, why do it?  Because it is said that domain parking can build a passive income; domain parking can make a profit; domain parking can generate cash! And here at domainparkingblog I want to see if this can work.

What is domain parking? According to wikipedia domain parking refers to the registration of an internet domain name without that domain being used to provide services such as email or a website. This may have been done to reserve the domain name for future development, and to protect against the possibility of cybersquatting.

The domain name can be monetized, that is adverts can be placed on a site that the domain name points to, so earning money for the owner of the domain name. (That’s the focus of domainparkingblog, to see if this is possible for ordinary mortals.)  The domain can be non-monetized, that is when you type in the domain address you get one of those ‘under construction’ holding pages or something similar.

When we buy our scintillating domain names with domain parking in mind, the idea is to monetize the domain name.

The next big decision is ‘how do I monetize my domain name?’  This is where those domain parking services come in – they will let you register with them so that you can submit your domain name, they will use your domain to display ads and each time someone clicks on one of the ads you earn some money and so does the domain parking company.

Now they will have thousands of domain names on which to display ads so they will be raking it in. Your domain on the other hand will hardly recover its costs unless it is exceptional. or you’ve invested in great marketing, or used a blog.

So this brings us to the conclusion that there has to be a better way to do it.

And there is.

It takes a little bit of work but it gives good returns. And that’s where we go beyond domain parking.
